that one.

we spent sunday-monday in trout lake, washington, which is near bz corner, washington, which is near white salmon, washington, which is near hood river.
which is near portland. :P

on sunday we went white water rafting. the first time for me in 9 years, for joel in about as long. it was 60 degrees outside, & the water was 40 degree glacier melt. they gave us wetsuits.

it was 4 of the most beautiful hours i've spent in a long time, except for the part where joel fell out in the middle of a rapid. (he's trained as a white water rafting guide, so he was fine ~ i think the guide was more freaked out than he was.)

the waterfall was the only class 5 rapid on the trip, and the guide spent the hour and a half before it prepping us for any possible thing that could go wrong, and instructing us on exactly what to do to make it go right. it was over in about a second.
