i totally forgot to post about my random er visit last wednesday.
i figured it would be a nice way to kick off the new year ~ it's been almost 4 months since my last chat with emergency personnel and we were due for a reunion.
sarcasm aside, i really have had a disproportionate number of unusual hospital experiences in the last few years. 2 years ago i had surgery on my wrist joint for a condition caused by playing the piano and flute too much. a few months later i was in the er with very swollen, painful lymph nodes on my neck: mumps. (yes, i had my mmr vaccine. no, i don't know how it happened.)
then there was the whole run over by a truck episode this last fall.
this time it was vitamins. the mutant vitamin/supplement of death and sneezing!
i bought a new vitamin/supplement from wild oats (it had lots of healthy sounding herbs that i didn't recognize ~ big mistake). i started taking it last monday, and wednesday i exploded.
i started innocuously ~ sneezing and runny nose in the morning. by early afternoon the right side of my face was swollen and i could hardly breathe.
so i went to the hospital, got some anti-"death-by-allergies" shots in my tush (indignity of all indignities) ... and spent the evening with a vitamin induced migraine.
and a sore tush.
